GL events and Viparis join forces to reduce the carbon footprint of events
Based on the shared goal of reducing the environmental impact of events, GL events has agreed a partnership with Viparis to lease 8,000m² in Hall 8 at the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre, which will be used as storage space for the equipment needed to install the stands for the Première Vision Paris trade fair, a major international event for the fashion industry.
Through this partnership, GL events will promote the reuse and recycling of equipment, while avoiding the need to transport more than 500 truck-loads of materials for each show, which takes place twice a year. This new storage space will help reduce CO2 emissions by 82 tonnes a year, i.e., the equivalent to a French person's carbon budget over a period of 40 years according to the objectives of the Paris Agreement or to the average French household's gas consumption over a period of 32 years*.

Two leading players in the events industry committed to a socially-responsible approach
This initiative is fully in line with the CSR commitments of both companies. For more than ten years, the GL events Group has been committed to implementing an active strategy in terms social responsibility. The environmental policy, which is a central component of this strategy, translates into tangible solutions on the ground, by prioritising the circular economy as well as the reconditioning and reuse of assets in order to reduce the environmental footprint of events. Recently, some 15 tonnes of food products from the 2021 SIRHA Lyon trade fair were distributed to the Food Bank and 88 tonnes of waste furniture were upcycled, for example.
