The worldwide skills competition for young people
WorldSkills is a trade-skills competition that gives young professionals the opportunity to measure themselves against participants from all over the world in this international competition. The preliminary stage of the French National Finals was organised all around France between April and October 2021, in order to select the regional champions for each of the trades involved, ranging from masonry to hairdressing and food services. Stage 2 will take place at Eurexpo - Lyon from 13 to 15 January 2022 and will decide who goes on to represent the French team at the World Finals at the end of 2022 in Shanghai, China.

A total of 64 professions involved in the competition
Some 600 competitors, representing 64 trades from 7 professional branches took part in the initial stage of the competition, covering the following: the food sector, the car and machinery sector, building and civil engineering works, communication and digital technologies, industrial manufacturing, the service sector and, finally, horticulture and landscaping.

A competition involving real-life production situations
The WorldSkills competition aims to organise technical tests that are as close as possible to working in the real-world economy: safety, meeting costs and deadlines, and optimum use of materials. The competition also gives visitors the opportunity to discover different trades and skills in an environment devoted to sharing.
